One of the most satisfying aspects of the publishing business is to put the first copy of a book into a writer’s hands. At that moment, the writer becomes an author.
Getting a book published has been described as giving birth. It certainly is a similar process. And after you birth your book, you, the author, must ensure it gets the proper nourishment and training and learns to walk.
It’s up to you to take your book from its first publication day to your first press release and book party, to many signings and other events, social media promotion, and all the work and joy that comes with being a published author. One who is actively marketing your work.
Over and over again, our authors tell us that they grow in many unexpected ways after publishing their books. They experience and enjoy reader comments and begin to develop a following of readers who can hardly wait for their next book.
“Creating and publishing my books has helped my children, myself, and many others.”
Esther Smith, author of No More Diapers for Boys, No More Diapers for Girls, and No More Picky Eaters
“That book is my little valentine to the universe, with a message for everyone.”
Pat Chargot, author of The Adventures of Balto: the Untold Story of Alaska’s Famous Iditarod Sled Dog.
“Completing my novel has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.”
Jeff Babcock, author of Should I Not Return.
A writer works hard to become a published author. We hope you look forward to your next very own publication day.

If you’re a serious author, and did not attend the meeting, and would like to review the training information, kindly let us know. Authors are required to have a Facebook author page to use Cortex.

We hear authors complain about all the personal stuff on Facebook. Most of these complaints are because the author doesn’t understand the difference difference between a Facebook profile and a Facebook page. Simply put, a profile is for personal things for friends and family; a page is for business. If your book is just a hobby, then it’s fine to have only a Facebook profile and make your posts for friends and family; however, if you’re serious about your writing, and it’s a business with you, or you want it to be business, then you need a Facebook page as an author. It’s simple to tell if it’s a page or a profile. A profile shows how many friends and a page shows how many likes. Here’s a link <> to a straight forward description on how to set up your author Facebook page.
