Yesterday we talked about one of our authors and her romance eBooks. But we didn’t say very much about the process itself, and that’s what we’d like to share with you today.
The decision learn how to publish an eBook is a smart thing for an author to do, and it’s getting smarter all the time. EBook s are definitely the trend. I would go so far as to say if you don’t convert your book to an eBook , be prepared to be an author without readers.
Let’s say you already have a book with us, what’s being called a pBook in the trade nowadays. That means paper book.
When we convert your book to an EBook , we charge you for our costs. We do not mark it up above that cost. And when we do give you a quoted price for this or any other service, you will note that the quote is good for a stated period of time, usually 30 days.
One cost that some authors don’t always know about is that each edition of a book needs to have its own ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
Once we have the converted files, we send them to our international distributor, who gets them to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Apple, Kobo, and other worldwide eBook vendors.
There is a one-time set-up fee to place your eBook into distribution. As for pricing, we price our eBook s at 60% of paper book price.
When the eBook sells, and after we receive payment from the vendor, royalty payments are paid on the same basis as any book you have with us. We account to you monthly on your Royalty Report.
So this is how to publish an ebook with us. Many of our authors have converted one or more of their books already, and are looking to convert more. Our authors like their readers, and want them to have their books in whatever format works for the readers.
If you have any questions about this process, or any other aspect of book publishing and marketing, kindly contact us at your earliest convenience. We’ll be happy to talk with you.
Keep in touch.

Cortex is for serious authors and will probably not be of interest to hobbyists. We recorded our Cortex training and information meeting. If you’re a serious author, and did not attend the meeting, and would like to review the training information, kindly let us know. Authors are required to have a Facebook author page to use Cortex.

We hear authors complain about all the personal stuff on Facebook. Most of these complaints are because the author doesn’t understand the difference difference between a Facebook profile and a Facebook page. Simply put, a profile is for personal things for friends and family; a page is for business. If your book is just a hobby, then it’s fine to have only a Facebook profile and make your posts for friends and family; however, if you’re serious about your writing, and it’s a business with you, or you want it to be business, then you need a Facebook page as an author. It’s simple to tell if it’s a page or a profile. A profile shows how many friends and a page shows how many likes. Here’s a link <> to a straight forward description on how to set up your author Facebook page.
