“When I couldn’t find more Christian books on spiritual warfare, I wrote my own. In doing so, I wrote for someone more important than me—you, my reader.” – Mary Ann Poll
A Journey Begins
There’s a powerful reminder that exists within each one of us. Nestled within our very essence is an extraordinary treasure housed in fragile containers. This truth beautifully emphasizes that our resilience doesn’t stem just from within but is a gift from a much greater power. It’s the same power that illuminated Mary Ann Poll’s journey.
Mary Ann Poll is not just another name in the literary world. Her story starts from a lineage of tenacious American farmers who epitomized strength and resilience. However, life’s unpredictability led Mary Ann to a point where her body seemed to fail her. A sudden and sharp pain signaled the onset of a herniated disc in her neck, leading her to a world of dependence and despair.
But as life would have it, this wasn’t her ending.
Embracing the Uncharted
In her vulnerable moments, Mary Ann found solace in reading. Books became her sanctuary, a realm free from pain. Over a hundred books in three short months, she immersed herself in tales of hope, resilience, and faith.
Yet, amidst the pages, a suggestion from a dear friend ignited a spark within her: Why not pen down her own book? The seed was sown, and although Mary Ann faced the familiar struggles of self-doubt and fear, she embraced the writing world.
Five years of dedication resulted in her first book, Ravens Cove, An Iconoclast Thriller. The joy of holding her creation was unparalleled. But her journey didn’t end there; three more books followed in the Iconoclast series.
The Echoes of Mary Ann’s World
Mary Ann’s stories carry a chilling essence, leaving readers with reflections on spiritual warfare and the ethereal. They dive deep, leaving an indelible mark on one’s soul. Just as Terry Palmer, author, and reader, commented on Ravens Cove, “If and when you want a chill late at night, here is the book for you… It takes you deep into what spiritual warfare is all about.”
Others echo similar sentiments. Author Bonnye Matthews warns readers of Raven’s Cove’s intense creepiness. L. F. Geth praises the Iconoclast series for its eerie prose and riveting narrative on the battle of good vs. evil.
The Legacy Lives On
Mary Ann Poll’s works serve as a testament to the transformative power of writing. They don’t just shape the narrative but deeply affect individual souls. Her journey from pain to prose is an enduring legacy, showcasing the miracles that can arise even from life’s most challenging moments.
Your Turn
So, are you ready to delve into the mysterious realms of Mary Ann Poll’s works? The power of writing has shaped many destinies, including hers. It might just shape yours. As you turn each page, remember the resilience emanating from a divine source and let it inspire your story. “If you don’t see the book you want on the shelf, write it.” Dive in, and let the journey begin.

We hear authors complain about all the personal stuff on Facebook. Most of these complaints are because the author doesn’t understand the difference difference between a Facebook profile and a Facebook page. Simply put, a profile is for personal things for friends and family; a page is for business. If your book is just a hobby, then it’s fine to have only a Facebook profile and make your posts for friends and family; however, if you’re serious about your writing, and it’s a business with you, or you want it to be business, then you need a Facebook page as an author. It’s simple to tell if it’s a page or a profile. A profile shows how many friends and a page shows how many likes. Here’s a link <> to a straight forward description on how to set up your author Facebook page.
