Yesterday we talked about one of our authors and her romance eBooks. But we didn’t say very much about the process itself, and that’s what we’d like to share with you today.
The decision to publish an eBook is wise for an author to make, and it’s getting smarter all the time. eBooks are the trend. I would go so far as to say if you don’t convert your book to an eBook, be prepared to be an author without readers.
Let’s say you already have a book with us, what’s being called a pBook in the trade nowadays. That means printed book.
We charge you for our costs when we convert your book to an eBook. We do not mark it up above that cost. And when we do give you a quoted price for this or any other service, you will note that the quote is good for a stated time period, usually 30 days.
One cost that some authors don’t always know about is that each edition of a book needs to have its own ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
Once we have the converted files, we send them to our international distributor, who gets them to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Apple, Kobo, and almost every other worldwide eBookseller.
There is a one-time set-up fee to place your eBook into distribution. As for pricing, we price our eBooks at 60% of the paper book price.
When the eBook sells, and after we receive payment from the vendor, royalty payments are paid on the same basis as any book you have with us. We account to you monthly on your Royalty Report.
So this is the way to publish an eBook with us. Many of our authors have converted one or more of their books already. Almost all new books we publish include eBook conversion and distribution. Our authors like their readers and want them to have their books in whatever format works for their readers.
If you have questions about this process or any other aspect of book publishing and marketing, kindly contact us. We’ll be happy to talk with you.
If you’ve written a book, if you’re writing a book, if you’re thinking about writing a book, or if you know someone who is writing a book, kindly download your free copy of Bringing Your Book to Market: <>. It describes the publishing process and how you could become a published author like Marianne Schlegelmilch.
